Playschool through Grade 6
One school, one continuous path. Children start in Playschool and can stay all the way through Grade 6, with MSL support and a weekly Culinary Program running alongside every level.

Playing and learning are inseparable.
At Smallville Playschool we believe that playing and learning are inseparable. Our child development program focuses on the whole child, helping children build strong motor skills, social skills, and self-esteem.
For two- to three-year-olds, the program encourages children to problem-solve, think creatively, and interact with others, so they become active, independent learners while playing, creating, exploring, and laughing.
Your child is accompanied by an adult or caregiver until they are ready to move up to Cycle 1. Playschool also welcomes children who are still toilet training. We partner with families in a calm, pressure-free way that respects each child’s readiness.

Choosing their own work, every morning.
Our Cycles are the heart of a Montessori classroom. Each class spans three age levels, so younger children learn from older ones and older children build confidence by leading. The classroom becomes a family setting, with realistic expectations and real boundaries.
Children choose meaningful work and repeat it until it clicks. The materials are self-correcting, which means a child discovers their own mistakes without an adult pointing them out. That is where independence and concentration are born.
By Cycle 3, reading and written language, math, Filipino, and a basic foreign language all sit alongside the practical life work that began in Playschool.

A full grade school, still led by the child.
Montessori does not stop at preschool. Our grade school carries the same principles forward into a full academic program: multi-age groupings, hands-on materials, and a child who is trusted to direct their own learning.
Alongside reading, language, and math, children study Filipino, cultural subjects (science and social studies), a basic foreign language, and MAPEH. Grace and courtesy development and values education stay on the timetable, because how a child treats others is part of the curriculum, not an extra.
Practical life continues here too. The oldest children in the room are the ones who set the tone for everyone else.

An inclusive school, in practice.
At Smallville Montessori, every child is welcome. We are an inclusive school, which means children who need extra learning or developmental support grow and learn alongside their classmates in a caring Montessori environment, not apart from them.
Every MSL child has an Individualized Education Plan built as a partnership between family and teachers. It starts with what your child can already do and what makes them light up, describes what they are still developing, and sets out exactly how we will support them this year. We never describe a child in terms of weakness.
Families are kept close: IEP discussions, annual meetings, and their own events sit right in the school calendar.
What they work on
- An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for every child
- Built on strengths and interests first
- Family and teacher partnership, reviewed through the year
- Learning alongside classmates, in the same prepared environment
Hours: Follows the child’s level

The kitchen is a classroom.
We believe the kitchen is one of the finest classrooms a child will ever know. When a child washes a handful of grapes, pours water without spilling, or spreads jam to the very edges of the bread, something quiet and important is happening: small hands are learning to trust themselves.
It is practical life made delicious. A child who carries a tray with care is practicing order and control of movement. A child who waits for the jelly to set is practicing patience. A child who offers the first cup to a friend is practicing grace and courtesy.
The program runs weekly across the school year, 36 sessions in four quarters, for every level from Playschool to Grade 6. It begins gently, with clean hands and simple routines, and grows week by week toward real dishes the children prepare together.
What they work on

- Four quarters of nine sessions
- Every level, Playschool to Grade 6
- Allergy-aware throughout; teachers handle all heat and sharp tools
